Fall Studio Begins

Our Fall Literacy Studio sessions begin for your children today!

Literacy Studio is a Montessori-style literacy program, where students choose their own activities based on a varied, daily array as chosen by the instructor. All activities are logged in each student’s portfolio, which contains all student work product. Student abilities are further measured by online, blended learning tools which track student reading ability and growth.

As our scholars enter the formal school system, Tree House Books will support their aims and interests as emergent readers, writers and thinkers in our community. Literacy Studio  will both support the lessons they are receiving at school while also offering personalize enrichment opportunities that underscore and develop the child’s personal authorship and agency in their literacy. Our OST programming offers students daily opportunities to engage with literature as a form of active self-expression. Student’s self-select their chosen activities, working with volunteer coaches who support and model an invested life with books.   We will create an environment where each child can define what literacy personally means to them.
