Tree House Books Advisory Board
The Tree House Books Advisory Board brings together city leaders and passionate advocates in the community who are committed to the work of literacy and to supporting children and families in our local neighborhoods. Working in concert with organizational leadership, the Advisory Board will meet formally and informally, working behind the scenes throughout the year to advance and promote the organization’s mission and goals.

Cass Bailey, THB Board Chair Emeritus, and President & CEO, Slice Communications
Cass is the president and CEO of Slice Communications, an agency in Philadelphia with fully dedicated public relations and social media teams that provides clients with actionable content and data-oriented approaches. She believes that integrated public relations and social media efforts are vital to accomplishing business goals when looking to grow and expand awareness of a company.
She is deeply involved with her community, serving as Chair of the Board for Tree House Books, Secretary of the Board for Hopeworks ‘N Camden, and member of the Red Cross Philadelphia Leadership Council. Cass graduated from The Catholic University of America with a degree in international politics, economics and philosophy.

JP Finnell is a strategic development executive with a 20+ year track record focused on scaling growth for businesses transformed by intelligent technologies and creating social value for non- profits centered on education and entrepreneurship. In his current role at SAP America, JP sponsored one of the first interns to graduate from BTECH (Business Technology Early College High School) – founded in 2011 to educate one million STEM graduates by 2022 as part of the “Educate to Innovate” NA mandate. Mr. Ireland has been a learning technology leader for over 25 years with diverse experience that includes public education, healthcare, and television. He brings a unique blend of practical and theoretical learning to Tree House Books with a specific focus on helping Tree House Books with program design and evaluation. As a Principal, Director, and Small Business Owner he has led large teams focused on child and adult learning using relevant and engaging instructional strategies infused with appropriate technology. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree from Lehigh University. He has been a board member since 2017.
